The beauty of living in Western Australia is that…it’s pretty darn beautiful.
A few weekends ago, Nate and I went to visit some friends camping out at 40 mile Beach, about 45 minutes south of Karratha. I haven’t posted many photos of where we live, I often forget that everyone back at home doesn’t get to see the same views I do every day. It’s still so strange to me.
The Pilbara is desert meets the ocean. It’s the oddest thing, but the most amazing thing at the same time. Everywhere you go, you have a mix of red dirt meets sand and sea shells. It’s a different desert from California/Nevada desert. It’s just one of those places you have to see to understand.
As much as I miss my Starbucks and regular sized Target, there are many moments when you walk outside (when it’s not dead set of summer) and the rawness of this natural beauty is breathtaking.
Now that it’s starting to cool down a bit as we enter Fall…and by cool, I mean in the 90’s…I’m very much enjoying taking a step outside again.
